Northwestern and Weatherly both opened the golf season with narrow victories on Thursday.

The Tigers trimmed Notre Dame by one stroke, while the Wreckers edged Nativity by eight.

Northwestern opened its Colonial League season with a narrow 391-392 victory over Notre Dame Green Pond.

Cole Dynda paced the Tigers by posting a low round of 71. Skylar Kern and Jake Kozlowski also broke 80, with Kern finishing with a 73 and Kozlowski carding a 79.

Jim Thorpe’s Kade Levan earned medalist honors by shooting an 82, but the Olympians dropped a 469-518 Colonial League contest to Pen Argyl.

Vinc fired a 74 to earn medalist honors. The Eagles, however, had four scores at 85 or better to gain the win.
