The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders will have a new name and look beginning with the 2027 season.

The Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees announced Tuesday that it plans to unveil a new identity in November. The organization said the rebrand will reflect Northeastern Pennsylvania’s heritage, natural beauty and outdoor legacy while maintaining its connection to the Yankees.

“This rebrand is about building an identity that our community can rally around for generations to come,” team president and general manager Shawn Reilly said. “As we looked toward the future of baseball in NEPA, we saw an opportunity to create something that is deeply rooted in this region while honoring the incredible tradition of baseball that has defined this franchise for decades.”

The RailRiders name has been used since 2013. During that span, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre won the 2016 International League championship and Triple-A National Championship.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre will open its 2027 season March 26 on the road, with its home opener scheduled for April 6 at PNC Field. The 150-game schedule includes 75 home and 75 road games.
