August 10, 1984 — Erik Pecha collects three hits, two of them homers, and knocks in eight runs to help Nesquehoning roll to a 22-4 victory over Lansford that clinches the Panther Valley Little League tournament championship. Pecha walks with the bases loaded in the second inning and also slugs a grand slam in the frame as the Nesquers score 13 times. He adds a three-run blast in the fifth. Matt Ligenza, the game’s winning pitcher, also finishes with three hits, including a run-scoring double and an RBI single. Chris West connects for an RBI single and a run-scoring double in the big frame, while Mark Hrebik and Mike Makovec add RBI hits. For Lasnford, Brian Kane hits a home run.
