Three area businesses licensed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board have been cited by the state department’s Liquor Control Enforcement office for violating the state’s liquor laws.

They are:

• T & L Welsh, Inc., trading as Mundy’s Pub in Tamaqua,

• The East End Fire Company No. 4, Tamaqua,

• The Rod and Gun Club, Coaldale.

The charges filed against them will be brought before an administrative law judge, who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50-1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. The judge can also impose license suspensions or revocation of the licenses based on the severity of the charges brought and can also mandate training for the licensees in an effort to educate them on the requirements of being licensees.

Regarding Mundy’s Pub, police said on May 30, the premises was not a bona fide restaurant in that it maintained insufficient seating. Then on Feb. 11 and 18, and May 28, police said servants, agents or employees of Mundy’s transported malt or brewed beverages without a license.

The citations against the Rod and Gun Club state from July 8 to 24, 2025, the club failed to have an alcohol service person complete RAMP server/seller training within six months of being hired, and during the period of July 8, 2025 to June 16 of tis year, the club failed to ensure its board-approved managed completed the RAMP owner/manager training within a two-year period.

Similarly, police said, the East End’s citation stated the company, between July 22, 2025 and May 29 of this year, failed to ensure its board-approved manager completed RAMP owner/manager training within a two-year period.
