State police at Stroudsburg
State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 38-year-old Stroudsburg man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 8:53 p.m. on March 26.
Police said he was stopped in a 2008 BMW for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Route 611 in Hamilton Township.
Police said the vehicle was seized and an executed search warrant yielded he was in possession of drugs.
• Police said a 44-year-old Stroudsburg man was taken into custody after they responded to a domestic/Protection From Abuse incident at 2:44 p.m. on July 12 on Clint Lane, Hamilton Township.
They said the victim is a 51-year-old woman from Stroudsburg.
Police said damage, as a result of the incident, is estimated at $120 and $10 was stolen during the incident.
• Police are investigating a theft from a vehicle incident in which the victim is the Monroe County Conservation agency, Stroudsburg.
They said they were called to Running Valley Road, Hamilton Township, where an estimated 10 gallons of gasoline were stolen from a 2018 Nissan Frontier.
Police said the vehicle was parked and unoccupied in the parking lot at that location, after which time officials discovered discrepancies in the vehicle’s usage. They said surveillance showed the theft occurred on July 12 during two separate incidents involving an SUV and a black sedan. They said the gasoline was siphoned by suspects.
• A 51-year-old man from Spring Brook Township is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance or alcohol after police responded to an incident at 12:26 p.m. on June 8 on Route 33 in Hamilton Township.
Police said they received a report of a disabled motorist blocking the left lane of travel and upon investigating determined the man was driving a 2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio while under the influence when it became disabled.
