August 4, 1967 — Fred Beltz hits a home run on offense and takes one away on defense as Summit Hill registers a 9-3 victory over Lansford during the Panther Valley Little League tournament. Beltz opens the scoring in the first inning when he connects for a three-run shot. Later, he reaches over the fence in left field to rob Tony Mongi of a longball. Bob O’Gurek finishes with three hits in the Hiller’s 12-hit attack, while Dave Dominic and Jack Bargilione both end with a single and a double. Tom Porambo chips in with two singles. Alan Miller gains the win, allowing just three hits. Miller walks three and strikes out four.
