PSP Stroudsburg - incidents
State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 36-year-old man from Saylorsburg was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, Monoroe Campus, Stroudsburg, following a drug overdose at 2:32 p.m. on July 31.
Police said it happened on Supreme Court, Middle Smithfield Township.
A 2021 Nissan Roue was involved in the incident, police said.
• Police responded to a fight in progress at 9:55 p.m. on July 31 on Storm Road, Hamilton Township.
They said the fight occurred over a children’s stock car race, resulting in multiple people being identified and cited.
Charged were a 38-year-old man from Bloomingburg, New York, and a 27-year-old man from Palmerton, who police said are both listed as victims in the incident as well.
They were cited for harassment by physical contact, police said.
Other victims listed in the report are a 25-year-old man from Saylorsburg, two women, ages 31 and 27, both from Palmerton, and a two-year-old boy.
• Scott Young, 75, of Stroudsburg, was cited for harassment by physical contact after police were called to a landlord-tenant dispute at 2:02 p.m. on July 31 at 2118 Rimrock Drive, Hamilton Township.
Police said the victim is Kenneth Price, 35, of Stroudsburg.
They said words were exchanged by Young that constituted to the level of harassment.
• A 24-year-old Stroudsburg man was charged with assault/bodily injury after he allegedly assaulted his sister in a domestic disturbance at a property on Bossardville Road, Hamilton Township.
Police said the incident took place between 7:49 and 8:26 p.m. on July 30, after which time the man was issued an involuntary mental health commitment.
Police said he resisted their effort to detain him and assaulted a trooper before being taken into custody.
The victims of the incident are a 16-year — old girl and a 33-year-old man, both from Stroudsburg.
• A 29-year-old Effort woman is facing charges after a motor vehicle crash at 1:35 p.m. on July 27 on Interstate 80 in Delaware Water Gap.
Police said the crash involved a 2018 Kia Stinger in which she was a passenger. They said through their investigation, it was determined an active warrant was out for the woman, who also was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Police said she also was cited for providing false identification to them.
• Police are investigating a theft/crime by deception incident they were told happened at 11:21 a.m. on April 21.
The victims are a 39-year-old woman from East Stroudsburg and a 57-year-old man from Staten Island, New York.
They told police they took a 2004 Lincoln Continental to a service garage, and it returned with insufficient work done on it.
Stolen through the deceit was $6,731.91, police said.
