August 3, 1998 — Bruce Shickora belts a pair of home runs to help Tamaqua roll to a 16-1 victory over Nesquehoning in a Panther Valley Little League tournament game. Shickora connects for a three-run homer in the first inning as Tamaqua jumps out to a 4-0 start. He adds a two-run blast in the fourth. Alex Zukus also drills a two-run homer in the second when the winners double their lead from 4-0 to 8-0. Zukus earns the pitching decision, tossing a four-hitter in the four-inning contest. He walks one and strikes out seven. Zac Evans chips in with two hits, one a two-run single, while John Lux also finishes with a pair of hits.
