A Lehighton special policeman shot a perfect score yesterday completing a 10-week course in practical pistol shooting for law enforcement officers.

Nevin Hontz of 69 Stedman Avenue shot a score of 100 with a .38 caliber special service revolver. He fired 50 shots in five and a half minutes at various distances and positions, including the kneeling, standing an d prone positions; right and left handed; and from behind barricades.

The course was held at the Palmerton Rod and Gun Club and was completed by 32 men. Police Chief Willard Steigerwalt of Palmerton was director of the school.

George Konsko, a member of the Palmerton Police Department, and Police Chief Norman Mertz of Mahoning Township tied for second place in the shooting.
