A landmarks institution in Palmerton is set to reach the century mark.

The Palmerton Area Library’s 100th Birthday Building Celebration will be held at 3 p.m. Aug. 9, at the facility at 402 Delaware Ave.

Guests are invited to join the library and come together to celebrate the significant milestone.

Library director Christine DeSousa said there will be cake, light refreshments and live music.

DeSousa added the event is an occasion to share the history of the building.

“We want to take a day to celebrate the building, and have a fun little afternoon,” DeSousa said. “We are excited to bring the community in to celebrate the 100th birthday of our building.”

Birthday cards and donations are being accepted.
