The Monroe County commissioners approved several items for the county’s departments during their meeting on Wednesday. They also offered explanations about some of the programs and expenditures.

In the Information Services Department, the commissioners approved an agreement with BMC Helix Offerings Inc. to renew the Track-It licenses with a contract term from July 29, 2026 to July 28, 2027. The cost is $22,089.05.

Commissioner John Christy, chairman, said, “Every time there is a computer request, a question, or desire, we put it into a Track-It system, so we are able to see that John Christy cannot work his iPad, because he has called IT for support 25 times. It’s simple like that.”

A resident asked if it tracks the people who contact the county? Christy said no. “It’s just with the internal of our use of IT systems.”

Commissioner Sharon Laverdure added, “Then we know to give them the support that they need to move forward.”

The commissioners gave their backing to Cornerstone Community Initiative to pursue a grant through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. The funding is through the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant Program

Christy said, “What we’re doing is sending a letter to the state stating that we approve that Cornerstone apply for this grant.”

This grant is for reentry services for people who are coming out of incarceration at the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Christy explained.

In the Office of Emergency Management, the commissioners accepted a quote from MCM Consulting Group Inc. for $10,950, which was the lowest responsible quote. The work is to complete a Commodity Flow Survey with funds from the Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness grant.

Christy explained, “What a commodity flow survey is, is that they look at all the freight traffic by rail, road, etc. through the County of Monroe, so that they are better prepared to take care of any emergency should it arise.”

Other items approved included:

• Children and Youth Services — Purchase of Service Agreements from July 1 to June 30, 2027: Bethany Christian Services of the Greater Delaware Valley, limit of $75,000, foster care services, and Pure Lux Homes LLC, limit of $150,000, residential group home, and;

• Domestic Relations — Title IV-D contract with Bernard A. Anderson, Esquire, from Oct. 1, 2025 to Sept. 30, 2030, subject to the availability of federal funds.
