St. John’s UCC, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton, will host a free community meal from 4:30-6:30 p.m. today.

The church will serve linguini with ham, tossed salad and dessert. No takeouts before 5:30 p.m.

<PARAGRAPH style="Body.subhead">Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Palmerton, announced the following events:

• Annual community picnic: Noon to 9 p.m. Aug. 8 in the grove. Service at 2 p.m. Free hot dog for kids up to age 12, between 2-4 p.m. There is also free face painting, 2-6 p.m.; Kiddie Cake Walk and Fish Pond, Evening cake walk for all ages, and raffle drawing. Live music Last One Standing from 4-9 p.m. Food for purchase all day. Rain date Aug 9.

• Persian donut sale: Orders due Sept. Choose from jelly or coconut topping. Orders can be made by calling 610-681-5200, 610-577-6332 or 610-681-5020. Order pickup at the church from 9-11 a.m. on Sept. 24.

• Fall basket social and bake sale: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 10 at the church. There will be theme baskets and raffles, baked goods, soups, filling, chow-chow and other items for sale. For questions, call 610-681-5200.

Free concert series

The Pennsylvania Villagers will perform from 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday in Palmerton Borough Park Bandstand as part of the Concourse Club’s Sunday concert series.

The club invites everyone to attend the free concerts running weekly through Aug. 23.

The Concourse Club reserves the right to cancel any concert for inclement weather and will post all cancellations to its Facebook page.

Blue Mountain Community Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown), holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. A contemporary service is held at 8:30 a.m., followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m. A traditional service is held at 11 a.m.
