State police at Fern Ridge

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following incidents:

• Matthew High, 36, of Stroudsburg, is facing charges of simple assault and harassment after police were called to Firehouse Lane, Chestnuthill Township, at 1:01 p.m. June 30.

Police said a 35-year-old woman from Stroudsburg reported that she had engaged in numerous physical altercations with High over the past several weeks. Police said injuries consistent with an assault were observed on the woman.

Police said a warrant for High’s arrest has been issued.

• A 30-year-old Effort man was cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to a domestic violence incident that turned physical at 5:42 p.m. June 28 on Lakeside Drive, Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the victim is 32-year-old woman from Effort.

• John Poliseno, 44, of Effort, was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon after police were called to the 3200 block of Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said Poliseno was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Daniel Traveline and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.

Police said they were summoned at 7:13 p.m. May 3 to the Dollar General Store to assist West End Ambulance personnel with a male who struck an emergency medical services vehicle and was previously unconscious with a needle stuck in his arm.

Police said through their investigation, it was determined that Poliseno committed the crime of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, terroristic threats and other related charges.

The said the victim is a 39-year-old man from Bethlehem.

Involved in the incident were a 2007 Dodge Caravan and a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe.
