The Big Boy 4014 pulled into Jim Thorpe last night, bringing railfans out in the heat. Lewis Bright-Rowe, who works at the station, said, “Seeing the Big Boy at the Jim Thorpe Train Station up close was very impressive.
“It reminded me of a childhood memory of the large train inside the Ben Franklin Museum in Philly.”
The train pulled out of Jim Thorpe this morning, headed to Nesquehoning and Tamaqua, then continued through Schuylkill County to Reading. It will be in Philadelphia for the July Fourth celebration before heading back West.
