July 2, 1996 — Carl Storms leads a 17-hit attack as Jim Thorpe powers its way to a 13-5 victory over White Haven in the District 18 Little League tournament. Storms collects three of the hits, including a two-run home run during the third inning. Mark Klotz gains the pitching win, allowing just two walks while striking out 13. Klotz gains plenty of offensive support as his teammates score four runs in the first inning and add six more in the second. Ryan Smith also finishes with three hits, while Klotz, Donnie Evans and Dave Stewart all contribute two.
