June 30, 1981 — Steve Steigerwalt pitches six and a third innings of no-hit ball to help Lehighton gain an 8-3 Lehigh Valley League victory over Palmerton. After Lehighton’s starter allows three first-inning runs on a hit and four walks, Steigerwalt relieves and doesn’t allow a hit the rest of the game and finishes with eight strikeouts. The winners take the lead in the home first thanks to Jim Carrigan’s two-run single and Glenn Dalley’s RBI double. Steve Hill and Art Dietz later add to the advantage with run-scoring singles.
