SH man sentenced for 51 counts of child pornography
A Summit Hill man was sentenced Tuesday to between 26 months and five years in state prison after pleading guilty to 51 counts of child pornography stemming from a Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General investigation.
John Michael Jasinsky Jr., 34, received the sentence from President Judge Roger N. Nanovic in the Carbon County Court of Common Pleas. All sentences run concurrently, meaning that Jasinsky will serve a single prison term rather than consecutive terms on each count. He was also sentenced to four years of probation to follow his release.
Jasinsky was given credit for 495 days, more than 16 months, already served since his arrest on Feb. 13, 2025.
Along with prison time, Nanovic ordered Jasinsky to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law; submit to a sexual offender evaluation; and complete a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation and follow all recommended treatment. He must also forfeit three electronic devices — a Samsung phone, a Dell desktop computer and an Acer tablet — according to court records.
Jasinsky, who lived on East White Street in Summit Hill, entered a negotiated guilty plea Jan. 23 to all 51 second-degree felony counts. A charge of criminal use of a communication facility and several additional child pornography counts were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
The investigation began when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a CyberTip report from Synchronoss Technologies Inc. showing that a mobile phone number had uploaded two suspected child sexual abuse materials in September 2024, according to arrest papers.
One file showed a woman performing a sex act on a male toddler. A second file contained seven video clips of children and adults engaged in sexual acts, arrest papers state. Agents also found additional files involving inappropriate touching between children and adults, according to the documents.
Agents from the Attorney General’s Office traced the IP address associated with the uploads to PenTeleData and obtained a subpoena for subscriber information, which led investigators to Jasinsky’s Summit Hill address. Agents also submitted a search warrant to Synchronoss for the mobile phone number, arrest papers state.
Agents, along with local law enforcement, then executed a search warrant at Jasinsky’s home. He was present and was transported to the Summit Hill Police Department to speak with investigators.
During the interview, Jasinsky admitted to viewing child pornography and to viewing, saving and sharing material through the file-sharing application “Mega,” court papers said. He also admitted to searching the term “cp” — an abbreviation for child pornography — and acknowledged seeing both videos identified in the CyberTip after reviewing the search warrant, according to arrest papers.
A forensic analysis of his devices found approximately four videos depicting child pornography on Jasinsky’s notebook computer, arrest papers state.
Jasinsky had been held at Carbon County Prison since his February 2025 arrest. Bail had been set at $250,000.
