Tamaqua police cite woman for disorderly conduct acts
Alysha Hartshorn, the Tamaqua woman who was involved in a four-hour standoff with law enforcement in March, was charged by borough police with disorderly conduct for breaking car windows on June 13.
A few days later, police said Hartshorn, 39, was dancing around naked in the borough’s downtown.
In the first incident, police were called to the 500 block of Washington Street at 8:34 p.m. for a report of a woman breaking windows with a baseball bat and saw Hartshorn, who attempted to run inside her nearby house. Police said she refused to stop and ran into a dark attic. Police said the location was where Hartshorn was previously involved in a standoff when she had multiple weapons.
Hartshorn was eventually taken into custody. A witness told police that he and Hartshorn were arguing all day and when her partner returned home, she continued to yell. She then grabbed a bat and broke a window on a vehicle she owns with her partner.
At 5:30 a.m. June 19, police were called to the intersection of Berwick and West Rowe streets after learning Hartshorn was halfway up the iron steps and was half-dressed.
Police said Hartshorn had no pants or shoes and was wearing a sports bra under an unbuttoned shirt. Officers said she “was all over the place and clearly under the influence of a controlled substance.”
According to police, a borough worker operating the street sweeper saw Hartshorn “spread eagle” in a downtown bank parking lot, and said she approached the sweeper and began “playing” with its window. Police said she was also spotted naked at the Five Points intersection.
She was taken into custody, charged with indecent exposure and returned to her residence, where she initially refused to go inside and began taking off her clothes.
