The Carbon County Conservation District last night announced the winners of its annual poster contest.
In grades 3-5, Richard Porambo of St. Michael’s School, Lansford, was the winner, followed by Allison Botek of Lehighton and Mary Plesniarski of Jim Thorpe.
The winner of the grades 6-8 competition was Francine Botek of St. Michael’s. Second place went to Douglas S. Feller while the third place winner was Douglas J. Woodring. The latter two are from Jim Thorpe.’
Three Panther Valley students swept the grades 9-12 contest. They are Scott Weaver, Mark K. Boyle and Debra Spink, who finished in first, second and third places, respectively.
