Bulldog Laundry opens in Slatington

A longtime Slatington laundromat has been given a fresh start.

Father-and-son team Norm and Kevin Finlayson have transformed the former Horner’s Laundry at 592 Main St. into Bulldog Laundry, a fully renovated, state-of-the-art laundromat aimed at bringing modern convenience to the community.

The Finlaysons purchased the building in June 2025 and spent the past year completely refurbishing the property from top to bottom.

“We put in all new lighting, new floor, painted, new signs, new windows and new machines,” Kevin Finlayson said.

The remodel was completed with help from BROC in New Tripoli, including Josh Haldaman and Aaron Horn.

“The infrastructure was good,” Haldaman said. “We were happy to be a part of making it all new again. “The laundromat now features new energy-efficient washers and dryers supplied by AC Power Company Inc., featuring Electrolux Professional laundry equipment designed to reduce utility usage.

Kevin said the facility includes 10 washers with 22-pound capacity, six washers with 40-pound capacity, and 18 dryers with 35-pound capacity.

Customers can use a Laundroworks payment system kiosk to add funds using cash or credit card onto a reusable Bulldog card, which can then be used for all washers and dryers and reloaded as needed.

“All washers and dryers are on a computer system that we can monitor at all times,” Kevin said. “The new laundry is all state-of-the-art.”

Bulldog Laundry is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday. The exterior doors automatically lock from the outside at 10 p.m., though customers inside can still exit safely. The last load is accepted at 9 p.m.

Kevin also thanked Remaley Signs and Services LLC for installing the new window signage.

“We are very excited to bring a new laundry to Slatington,” he said.

For Norm Finlayson, the project reflects a simple philosophy.

“When you do a job right, you don’t have to worry about it.”
