Local Roundup: Results from June 13-14
Palmerton and Northern Valley both suffered narrow one-run losses in Lehigh Valley Junior Connie Mack action over the weekend.

Northern Vy.-S. Parkland
Northern Valley staged a late comeback, but the Chargers couldn’t get past South Parkland and suffered a 9-8 loss.
Down 6-2 after five innings, Northern Valley rallied for three runs in both the sixth and seventh innings. South Parkland sealed the game with a three-run home sixth.
Ben Storch paced the Chargers, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Northern Valley swiped six bases.

Palmerton-Northampton
Palmerton rallied from a six-run deficit, but the Bombers couldn’t close the gap and fell to Northampton 10-9.
Trailing 8-2 in its home sixth, Palmerton plated four runs to close to within 8-6. But Northampton added two insurance runs in the top of the seventh before Palmerton’s three-run outburst fell just short.
Cade Serfass went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs for the Bombers, and Brady Ivancich had a two-run single.

Williams Township exploded for six runs in the home fourth, and went on to a 15-5 victory over Northern Lehigh.
Leading 2-0 after the first inning, Williams Township extended its lead to 6-0 with a four-run third. Northern Lehigh earlier pushed across five runs in the top of the inning.
Andrew Stettler went 3-for-3 and stole three bases for Northern Lehigh. Bradley Conroy, Ethan Kromer, Jordan Rehrig and Chase Roberts each drove in a run.

Northern Vy.- N. Parkland
North Parkland plated six runs in the home sixth, and the Buffaloes outlasted Northern Valley 17-13 in a wild battle.
Northern Valley jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the top of the second, but North Parkland responded with seven runs in the bottom of the inning.
In the top of the sixth, Northern Valley rallied for three runs to regain the lead at 12-11, but the Chargers couldn’t hold the advantage.
Gabe Markovitch and Calvin Kulp each went 3-for-4 for the Chargers. Braydon Gonzalez had two hits and three RBIs, and Jacob Spatz knocked in three runs.
Walter Merkel went 3-for-3 with four RBIs for North Parkland, which benefited from eight Northern Valley errors.

Jim Thorpe-Lower Mac
Lower Macungie erupted for five runs in the first inning, and went on to a 13-0 shutout of Jim Thorpe.
In the bottom of the third, Lower Macungie padded its lead with a five-run outburst.
Ryan Groller and Omar Zeiner each drove in three runs for Lower Macungie.
Jim Thorpe was limited to five singles, which came from Daniel Off, Jaxon O’Shura, Carter Reis, Ezra Krout and Seth Sterling.

Berlinsville-Hellertown
Jaxson Horvath went 2-for-4 and drove in six runs, but it wasn’t enough as Berlinsville dropped a 9-8 eight-inning contest to the Hellertown Royals.
Berlinsville held a 7-4 lead after six innings until Hellertown tied the game with a three-run spurt. The Royals then added a pair of runs in the eighth, and Berlinsville responded with only a single run.
Palmerton graduate Cole Serfass reached base five times for the Braves, finishing 3-for-3 with two walks. One of his hits was a double, and he scored two runs and had an RBI. Fellow Bomber grad Luke Netznik chipped in with a double and a run.
