A Norway maple tree was planted near the Lehighton Municipal Building as a memorial to the late Helen Ahner Rodgers.

Helen served in various roles in the community, including overseeing the Senior Citizens Inc. lunch program and participating in the Carbon County Action Committee for Human Services and the United Cerebral Palsy of Carbon County.

She was an active member of the Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Lehighton, where she taught Sunday school for over 30 years.

The shade tree was placed on the right side of the municipal building and adjacent to the church - the stop closest to the two places she loved and served for many years.

Helen was married to Kenneth Rodgers.
