State Rep. Tim Twardzik, R-Schuylkill, and Sen. David Argall, R-29, announce that Schuylkill Technology Center has been awarded $74,895 through the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Competitive Equipment Grants program to strengthen career and technical education opportunities for students in the 123rd Legislative District.

Schuylkill Technology Center will use the grant to enhance instructional equipment, including upgrades in automotive technology and welding programs and expanding hands-on training opportunities that prepare students for careers in the skilled trades and other high-demand industries.

The funding is part of a statewide $4.3 million investment awarded to 54 schools and career and technical centers to modernize equipment used in approved CTE programs. The program provides grants of up to $85,000 to support the purchase of industry-aligned equipment that gives students hands-on training tied directly to in-demand careers.
