Lansford Borough Council took the following action at a special meeting late last month:

• Appointed Shannon Darker as zoning officer for the borough due to Ray Swartz leaving ARRO Consulting, the borough’s engineering firm.

• Approved a request for the Lansford 150th Anniversary Motorcycle Ride June 27 departing from the Lansford American Legion at 10:30 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m.

• Revoked previously approved payments to residents Leonard Ruggiero and John Hosak for sidewalk and sidewalk drain cover repairs that were damaged during snow removal, as the borough was not responsible or liable for the damages.

• Tabled action on a $1 pay increase in the upcoming crossing guard contract for negotiations with the Teamsters union.

• Tabled action on the streaming policy and compensating the secretary/treasurer for added duties to their job descriptions based on implementation.

• Tabled action to change the pay rate of Ashley McLaughlin and Maria Ahner, the borough secretary and treasurer, to compensate them for pensions that were agreed upon at hiring but not provided. Council wants to discuss the legality of the move with its solicitor.
