JUNE 4, 1991

The Weissport Borough Council is seeking people to serve on its board after two members resigned last night.

Rueben Kunkle Jr., who has been serving as secretary-treasurer, and Shirley Schoenberger submitted their resignations, which were accepted with regret.

This leaves council with five members on board and no one is running to replace council President Kay Fritzinger and member Bob Leffler, who have not placed their names on the fall General Election ballot.

That will leave Lewis A.D. Smith, Rusty Schoenberger and Gene Kershner as the only sitting members at the start of the year.

A seventh member, Claude Andrews, died last year and no one has offered to fill the seat.
