Car club announces cruise events

The Anthracite Region Antique Automobile Club of America has announced the 2026 dates for its Summer Benefit Cruises as well as its 40th annual car show.

June events

On Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. the club will set up at Leiby’s Ice Cream House, Tamaqua. This is a rain or shine event.

Dash plaques for the first 50 cars; cruising music and door prizes. Food available at Leibys.

All antiques, muscle cars, modifieds, hot rods and motorcycles are welcome.

Proceeds benefit the McAdoo AMVETS Post 1.

The club then will have a cruise on June 27 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Tri County Little League Field, McAdoo.

Come celebrate the Southside Summer Festival, which runs from noon to 7 p.m.

Entertainment provided by DJ John from the Strand from noon to 3 p.m. and the Legends Oldies Band from 4 to 7 p.m.

Food trucks and vendors will be set up including: His Kingdom Coffee, Wicked Foods, Dantes Inferno by Alta, Joe’s Pierogies and Donuts, La Casita, the Greek Shack and Woods Ice Cream.

All antiques, muscle cars, modifieds, hot rods and motorcycles are welcome.

Proceeds to benefit McAdoo playgrounds.

July events

On July 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. the club will be at Moyers Campground, Hobbie.

Dash plaques for the first 50 cars; cruising music and door prizes. Food available at the campground.

All antiques, muscle cars, modifieds, hot rods and motorcycles are welcome.

Complementary swimming privileges for all Cruisers.

Proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish.

August events

On Aug. 5 (rain date Aug. 6) from 6 to 8 p.m. the club will be at Heritage Hill Senior Living Community, 800 Sixth St., Weatherly.

Dash plaques for the first 40 cars; food and drinks will be available.

All antiques, muscle cars, modifieds, hotrods and motorcycles are welcome.

Proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. For more information, call Dave Bielen at 717-471-9313.

On Aug. 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. cars will be parked at Leiby’s Ice Cream House, Tamaqua.

Dash plaques for the first 50 cars; cruising music and door prizes. Food available at Leibys. All antiques, muscle cars, modifieds, hot rods, and motorcycles are welcome.

Proceeds benefit Hillside SPCA, Pottsville.

September events

On Sept. 20 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. the club will hold its 40th annual car show at the Tri-County Little League Field, corner of Grove and Hancock streets, McAdoo.

There will be a Special Participation Award to the first 150 registered vehicles as well as Special Awards to “Best of Show Stock” and “Best of Show Modified.”

Dash plaques will be given to the first 200 registered vehicles. Preregistration will be taken until Sept. 11.

Special awards will be given to all AACA Senior and First Junior automobiles that are registered by Sept. 6.

Gates open at 8 a.m. and day of show registration will continue until noon. Awards will begin at 2:30 p.m.

The show is open to all antiques, classics, street rods, rat rods, modifieds, trucks, customs, motorcycles and muscle cars.

The Tri-County Little League will have food and beverages available.

Spectators are encouraged to stop by, look over the machines of yesteryear, and take a trip back into the past.

This year’s show will be a “No Judging Show”; participants are encouraged to come out and show your cars to help promote the hobby. As a special treat, the show will feature live music by the Legends Oldies Band.

The current slate of officers of the Anthracite Region AACA for 2026 is: President Joe Forish; Co-Vice Presidents Jim Rogers and Mike Havrilla; Secretary Steve Sheer; and Treasurer Dave Bielen.

The Anthracite Region AACA currently has over 50 active members.
