Mahoning Township Lions
An Ice Cream Social, hosted by the Mahoning Township Lions Club, will be held from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on June 10 in the Normal Square Pavilion. There will be hamburger and chicken barbecue, sundaes, waffles and ice cream and hot dogs and drinks.
St. Matthew’s
St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church — North Weissport, 222 Church St., Lehighton, holds worship at 9 a.m. Sundays. Worship is also offered on Facebook (St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church). Pastor Michael A. Frost presides. All are welcome.
Sunday Church School begins at 10:15 a.m. It is for children ages 3 through 8th grade.
Adult Bible study is held Monday afternoons from 1:30-3 p.m.

Trinity Happenings
Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, begins at 9:30 a.m. Licensed Lay Minister Kathy Long presides. Wedding reception fellowship follows in Luther Hall.
There will be no Quiet Communion on June 6 or July 4.

Church initiatives:
The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.
Trinity Thrift Store hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays. Cash only sales. Clothing donations will be accepted during store hours. There is a five bag limit. Household goods are not being accepted at this time. Use door 2 to bring clothing inside.
Looking ahead:
• During the June 14 worship, students who have graduated from high school or any institution of higher learning will be recognized for their achievements. Each confirmed high school graduate will be presented a special homemade gift. Please email or phone the church office in advance if you will be attending and the information you would like to share printed in the church bulletin.
• Vacation Bible School “Road Trip: On the Go with God” for students ages 3 to grade 6, July 27-31, 6-8 p.m. Free registration by contacting the church office or sign up in narthex after worship. Teen and adult volunteers are welcome to help.

Community Cupboard: Dinkey Memorial has a food cupboard available to those in need who are members of Dinkey Memorial and St. John’s and to residents of East Penn Township. The distribution is the third Thursday of every month from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Dinkey’s Social Room. For more information, speak with Pastor Tony.

• Ladies Bible Study will be held every Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Friday at 10 a.m. starting in September. The study is “Following God’s Guidance: A Women of Faith Study.
• AWANA for children and youth begins Sept. 2. It is held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
