Coaldale is hoping to get an alert system to notify residents of road work, snow removal and more.
In order to qualify for the service, secretary Kim Gavornik said the borough needs to have phone numbers for at least half of its residents. She encouraged residents to contact borough hall with their numbers, or write them on the bills they submit.
“Not everybody has access to Facebook or the internet,” where alerts are often posted, council President Rose Hoban said. “This way, if we have your phone number, you’ll get a phone call keeping you updated on certain things.”
The alerts would be by a call, and not by a text message.
