The Times News has three reasons to smile on Saturday at the Pennsylvania Press Conference held at the Harrisburg Marriott.
George Taylor received a Keystone Press Award for column-writing; Pattie Mihalik was named Pennsylvania Newswriter of the Year; and Marigrace Heyer was elected vice president of the Pennsylvania Women’s Press Association.
Taylor won a second place plaque for his Saturday columns, “By George,” while Mihalik was named the top newswriter based on her having accumulated the most wins in journalism competition.
Heyer, the Times News Lifestyle Editor, was elevated to the VP role in which she will help lead 200 PWPA members, serve on the executive committee and help plan educational seminars.
