Weatherly Area School Board

The Weatherly Area School Board officially approved the list of the Class of 2026 Weatherly High School graduates last week.

Weatherly Area High School’s graduation is scheduled for Friday, June 5, at 6 p.m. in the middle school gymnasium.

The class valedictorian will be McKenna Gerhard. The Salutatorian will be Kelly Reiner.

In other business, the board:

• Approved the resignation of Dr. Tiffany Huff, full-time school psychologist, last day June 30, 2026. No reason was provided.

“We do have progress on replacement,” Dr. Robert Croop, Weatherly Superintendent, said. “That will come before the board next month. We are looking to outsource that.”

• Approved the resignation of Erica Kane-Poweski, varsity volleyball coach, effective the 2026-27 school year. No reason was provided. The school is still working to fill the position.

• Approved the All American Athletics pricing proposal for the gym floor resurfacing. The cost is $6,200 for the middle school gym, and $2,900 for the high school gym.

• Approved the TEK Ed Solutions Statement of Work for external surveillance camera installation at a cost of $9,987. School staff will do the work for the internal cameras.

• Approved the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21 Overdrive Consortium Agreement for the 2026-27 school year.

• Approved the Frontline Education Absence Management System renewal for the 2026-27 school year at a cost of $6,387.45. School board members will be looking into alternatives for next year.

• Approved the 2026-2027 BHA cost savings plan prepayment, at a cost of $232,045. The savings range from 13% to 25.6%.

• Approved the purchase of My View Literacy Curriculum, a five-year curriculum purchase for grades kindergarten to 5, not to exceed $67,000.

• The board approved the agreement between Weatherly Area School District and Pearson for a cyber learning platform for Weatherly Area Virtual Academy.

• Daughters of the American Revolution use of middle school gymnasium on today, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for awards ceremony.

• Weatherly Area Museum use of middle school gymnasium on Saturday, June 13, from 4-6 p.m. for author Bill Huber presentation on Charles Schwab.

• Cranberry Quilt Guild use of middle school gymnasium, cafeteria and LGI room on Sept. 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a quilt show. Setup for the show is Sept. 18 at 4 p.m.

• Approved the PSBA All Access Package renewal for the 2026-27 school year at a cost of $9,190.37.
