The Lehighton and Franklin township fire companies responded to a working structure fire Tuesday night in Lehighton. The alarm came in just before 9:30 p.m. at a masonry garage on East Alley directly behind the post office. When firefighters arrived on scene they found heavy smoke and flames pouring from the structure. Area fire police maintained traffic control at the scene.
