Republican candidates run for committees
Republican voters in Carbon County who go to the polls on Tuesday, will have a choice for who will represent the county on the GOP state committee.
The party’s bylaws call for one woman and one man from the county to hold the positions. Voting is done on an at-large basis and includes all 51 election districts in the county.
The candidates for the state committee are Rochelle Pasquariello of East Penn Township and Rebecca Hassenbein of Penn Forest Township.
The male candidate who is unopposed is Darin Dotter of East Penn Township.
Meanwhile, in this state and federal election, each party elects local committeemen and committeemen to represent their municipalities on the county Republican committee. The county bylaws have a designated number of positions in each municipality.
