Nathan D. Hartman, 22, of Pottsville, had minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 5:12 p.m. May 9 on Grier Avenue, Delano Township, police said.

State police at the Frackville barracks said that Hartman was transported by personnel from the Ryan Township Emergency & Rescue Squad to St. Luke’s Miners Campus, Coaldale.

The crash occurred as Hartman was driving a 1995 Jeep Cherokee south when police suspect its brakes failed. The Jeep hit an embankment and then a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Alexander J. Bluge, 19, also of Pottsville, before rolling over, police said.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Hartman was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed, according to police.
