Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Debra Rogers will bring a message teaching all to “Abide in Jesus” at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary Evangelical Church in the Lewistown Valley. Special and congregational music will be enjoyed. Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m. The evening service is at 6:30 p.m. Sunday to celebrate Jesus and His love.

The Wednesday prayer group meets at 7 p.m.

A combined service between Calvary Evangelical and Zion Church will be held at 11 a.m. May 24 to celebrate Memorial Day. All are invited to join to honor and remember our heroes.

St. Peter’s — West Penn

The Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn is at 9 a.m. with Adult Sunday school at 10:15 a.m.

On May 21, a 3-year-old Preschool Moving Up ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. The Cherub Choir meets at 6 p.m. May 21.

On May 22, the 4-year-old Preschool Graduation ceremony will be held at 10 a.m.

On May 24, a worship service will be held at 9 a.m. There will also be an 11:30 a.m. Memorial Day service. Attendees should bring lawn chairs.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on May 7 with 28 members present.

President Jean Machamer opened the meeting. A member read the invocation, “God Shows His Love in Many Ways.”

All were welcomed back. A guest attended.

A member won Mother’s Day items that were chanced off. Three members are celebrating birthdays in May. The president’s daughter made peanut butter crackers for a Mother’s Day present. Refreshments were served and the meeting closed.

Bingo and cards were played. The group wished all a Happy Mother’s Day.

The seniors meet at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Coaldale Complex.

Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors

The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met on May 12 with 31 members present.

President Robert Neifert opened the meeting with the invocation, “Beauty in the World.”

A memorial basket was chanced off and won by a member. Food and drinks were provided.

Four members are celebrating birthdays in May.

A spaghetti dinner will be served at 12:30 p.m. June 9. A guest speaker will be on hand and music will be provided. Members should arrive at 11 a.m. There is a cost.

The meeting closed and bingo was played. The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. May 26 at Christ Church in Barnesville.
