A steady rain much of the day marred the seventh annual food truck festival of the American Hose Company in Lansford.
But it didn’t stop it completely.
Despite the rain, some hearty, dedicated souls patronized the fund-raiser that is used to help the fire company purchase gear and continue operations.
“Despite the rain, we had a steady turnout of people,” said Lanford Fire Chief Joseph Greco. “The food vendors said they were pleased with the turnout.”
Besides fewer people than normally attend the food truck festival, the number of vendors was brought down by the weather.
Usually well over a dozen food trucks and stands are on the premises for it. This year, there were only five. But the selection was still varied.
The vendors were: Coaldale Fire Company, which operated a stand inside the Lansford Fire Company; Parryville Fire Company; Paul and Charlie’s Sausages; Kevin’s Grill; and Lorah’s Shrimp and More.
A basket raffle was held inside the Lansford headquarters.
Bob Dobosh of Lansford said he attended because he likes to patronize local businesses and events.
Midway through the afternoon, the rain subsided, which helped increase the turnout.
