May 6, 2013 — Brett Kosciolek pitches a five-hit shutout and Tamaqua pushes across a first-inning run to earn a 1-0 Schuylkill League victory over visiting Pottsville. Kosciolek finishes with 12 strikeouts in outdueling the Tide’s Eli Nabholz. The Blue Raiders, coached by Jeff Reading, score the only run of the game in the first when Matt Roberts doubles and Derek Rottet delivers an RBI single. Kosciolek gets out of a sixth-inning jam as Matt Minchhoff’s throw to home keeps Pottsville’s Travis Blankenhorn from scoring from third and instead results in two Tide runners being tagged out in rundowns. Roberts ends the contest with two hits, both doubles.
