It was a dual celebration as Ajax, the new canine for Lansford Borough’s police force, was introduced to the public, and Lansford presented Daniel and Ralph Cipko a plaque for their generosity in purchasing the drug and patrol dog for the borough.
During the brief ceremony in which the Cipkos were presented the plaque, Ajax sat quietly by his handler, Officer Jeremy Sommers, but began to bark when applause for the brothers erupted.
The brothers provided the funding for the specially trained German shepherd, and Daniel Cipko said Ajax would have the best food and best veterinary care. “Ajax is going to clean up all of the drugs in Lansford,” Daniel said.
