Pleasant Valley’s Rylee Rath had another big gain and amassed her latest milestone in a girls lacrosse win on Saturday.

Pleasant Valley-Boyertown

Rylee Rath tallied eight goals on Saturday to lead Pleasant Valley to a 15-5 victory over Boyertown for the Bears’ fourth straight win.

Peyton Knecht had two goals and five assists for PV, while Brielle Halamar added a pair of goals.

Rath also reached 800 draw controls for her career during the contest.

Nazareth-N’western

Nazareth recorded its 10th straight win on Friday, posting an 18-6 victory over Northwestern.

The Tigers received three goals and an assist from Cali Colistra, while Ella Collins contributed a goal and a pair of helpers. Olivia Fagan and Mandy Breidinger each added a goal. With the tally, Fagan reached 100 career points.

The Blue Eagles received five goals from Mia Pulliam, and two goals and six assists from Natalie Mihalko.

Blue Mtn. Invitational

Jim Thorpe collected five firsts at the annual Blue Mountain Invitational on Friday.

Northwestern added two firsts, while Northern Lehigh and Tamaqua each had one at the Invite, which featured 21 schools.

Thorpe’s Kayden Spence won a pair of individual events, taking the 200 in a time of 22.03, and capturing the 400 in 49.26.

The Olympian boys also had two relay teams earn firsts — the 400 in 42.11, and the 1600 in 3:29.81.

Among the Thorpe girls, Isabella Roman gained gold in the javelin with a throw of 121-2.

Northern Lehigh’s Zaid Salih posted a time of 4:31.69 in the 1600 to win the event, and also finished second in the 3200.

Northwestern’s Sophia Schaffer sprinted to victory in the girls 200, crossing the line in 26.11. She was also second in the long jump. The Tigers’ 400 relay squad also posted a first place, putting up a time of 50.11.

The other area gold was earned by the Raiders’ Shaylee Gormley. The Tamaqua freshman captured the 800 in 2:28.07.

Area runner-up finishes in the boys competition included Jim Thorpe’s Josh Louk (100), Northern Lehigh’s Kellen Bauer (high jump) and Northwestern’s Logan Mesics (triple jump).

Local girls placing second at the event were Jim Thorpe’s Logan Gillespie (1600, 3200), Northwestern’s Taylor Langley (100 hurdles), Mallory Conner (discus) and Hannah Gober (javelin), and Tamaqua’s Katelynn Fredericks (300 hurdles), and 3200 relay squad.
