State police at Fern Ridge
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following incidents:
• Police were called to a theft incident at 1:20 p.m. March 30 on Lenape Trail, Penn Forest Township.
An 18-year-old Stroudsburg man told police that someone stole his Sony PlayStation 5 and a safe.
• Police received three separate reported of incidents of endangering the welfare of a child.
Two of the three incidents were reported to have occurred on Overlook Terrace, Jackson Township, on April 2 and 3, respectively. The third was reported to have occurred on April 1 on Silver Valley Road, Jackson Township.
Police said investigations of the incidents are continuing.
• Police said six drivers were arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substances after traffic stops they made recently on roads in Monroe County.
They did not provide the names or residences of the drivers.
The incidents occurred on Interstate 80, Route 209, Route 940 and North Road in Tobyhanna, Jackson and Chestnuthill townships.
No other information on the incidents was provided by police.
• Police received three reports of harassment incidents.
Two of the incidents occurred on March 25, at 282.3 eastbound on Interstate 80 and on Hemlock Road, respectively.
In the first, police said they were dispatched to a report of a 9-1-1 hang-up call and learned neighbors were engaged in a verbal argument. Both were cited for harassment and disorderly conduct.
The second incident, on Hemlock Road, also involved a verbal dispute between neighbors, who received the same citations.
The third incident was reported on April 2 on Shane Drive, Chestnuthill Township.
Police said a child told school personnel that she was physically punished by her grandmother.
• Police responded to a Dog Law violation on April 4.
The incident occurred on Twin Lake Road, Jackson Township. Police said an investigation is ongoing.
• Police responded to two deaths that were later attributed to natural causes.
The first one occurred on March 20 on Patten Circle, Penn Forest Township, where a woman found her husband unresponsive, police said.
The second one occurred on March 24 on Adirondack Drive, Chestnuthill Township, where a man choked on food and was unable to be revived by his daughter or EMS personnel, police said.
• Police are investigating a burglary that was reported on Chatham Hill Road, Jackson Township. No information on the incident was provided in their report.
• Police said the driver of a vehicle they stopped at 4:22 p.m. April 4 in the 100 block of McIlhanney Road, Chestnuthill Township, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
The driver was found to be in possession of cocaine and methamphetamine, police said.
• Police said a driver is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance after they conducted a traffic stop on March 12. The time of the stop was not provided.
The stop was made at 100 Commercial Boulevard, Tobyhanna Township.
• Police responded to a vehicle theft report on April 1.
It was reported to have occurred on Route 209, Chestnuthill Township.
No information about the vehicle was released.
• Police are investigating a burglary that was reported on April 6 on Tapuco Drive, Penn Forest Township. No other information on the incident was reported by police.
