A motorcyclist was seriously injured Sunday night in a crash in Coaldale. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the intersection of Water and Second streets.

The biker was reported to be unconscious but breathing.

The victim was treated at the scene then flown by a medical transport helicopter to a Lehigh Valley area trauma center. Tamaqua police are investigating the incident. Coaldale fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway Route 209.
