Shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday morning the Lehighton fire department was dispatched to a working structure fire at 8 Second Avenue in the borough.

When firefighters arrived on scene they found a wooden structure fully involved in flames threatening other structures. Smoke from the blaze could be seen over 10 miles away.

Lehighton fire police maintained traffic control, shutting down area streets surrounding the scene.
