One woman was seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a crash in the village of Cumbola.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. as she was traveling along Route 209 on a reported dirt bike.
She failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway striking and going over a set of guiderails, plummeting down a ten foot embankment.
Several Schuylkill county rescue units worked to extricate the injured using ropes.
The victim was treated at the scene by Schuylkill paramedics before being flown from the scene by LifeFlight 5 to Lehigh Valley Hospital trauma at Cedar Crest.
Blythe township police are investigating the incident. Area fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway.
