A motorcyclist was seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a crash in West Penn Township.
According to reports on the scene, the crash occurred around noon when the driver of a sport utility vehicle was making a left turn onto the parking lot of the West Penn Diner and the biker struck the SUV broadside.
The victim was treated at the scene by members of the Tamaqua ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being flown from the scene by LifeFlight 6.
West Penn township police are investigating the incident. Route 443 is shut down to traffic.
