The Monroe County commissioners approved the following items during their meeting on April 1.

• Accepting proposal from Schoonover & Vanderhoof, Architects LLC to provide the scope of renovations to the Chestnuthill, Eldred, Polk and Ross Magisterial District Justice Office 43-3-04 at a cost of $10,800.

• Change orders – Negley’s Well Drilling, an addition of $8,085 for pilot bore for casing; and a deduction of $10,900 for backhoe work with new contract total of $107,021.26. This work is for a new water well at the Monroe County Correctional Facility.

• Proposal from AES for installation of six door contacts and cables for $7,138.

• Proposal from E.F. Possinger & Sons Inc., $8,000 for digging sediment pits, closing pits, removing filter bags and drill spoils, and restoring well area for the well area at MCCF.

• Allocations to be paid from Hotel Tax Funds – VIP Studios, Founders’ Day, $150; Stroud Region Open Space and Recreation Commission, America 250 Run, $1,776; Juneteenth celebration, Fine Arts Discovery Series Inc. doing business as Sherman Theater, $2,000; ABC Trophy, Civil War plaque, $2,150; Vietnam Veterans of America Pocono Chapter 678, Moving Wall Program, $4,000; Stroudsburg Borough, America250 events, $10,000; Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder Fire Company, West End Fireman’s Festival, $15,000.
