April 8, 1994 — Tamaqua receives home runs from both Darin Lusch and Mark Behr to help gain a 10-4 victory over Mahanoy Area in its season opener. Lusch gets the Blue Raiders, coached by Bob Livingston, off to a good start with a two-run blast in the first inning, while Behr adds a solo shot in the second. Steve Behr adds an RBI double in the opening frame, while Lusch also doubles home a run in the second. Three Tamaqua pitchers combine to strike out 14 batters. Starter and winner Daryl Nothstein fans five in three innings of work, while Rich Koch sets down seven in his three frames. Dan Bingaman closes the game with two strikeouts in the last inning.
