Tamaqua woman killed in Walker Twp. crash

State police at Frackville have released details of a fatal crash on Friday night on Clamtown Road just west of Route 309 in Walker Township.

Police said Victoria L. Bailey of Tamaqua was killed in the crash and her passenger, Keith R. Bailey, 37, was transported to St. Luke’s Bethlehem with critical injuries.

Police said Victoria Bailey was driving a 1990 Eagle eastbound at 9:30 p.m. when she lost control on a left curve. She went into the westbound lane and back into the eastbound lane, then went off the shoulder of the road and hit a utility pole.

Victoria Bailey, who police said was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Area fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway.

The vehicle was removed from the scene by Womer’s Towing.

Assisting state police at the scene were Walker Township Fire Company, Tamaqua Fire Company, Tamaqua Fire Police, Lehighton EMS, Penn Mahoning EMS and Tamaqua EMS.
