The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the industrial accident in Rush Township that claimed the life of a man Saturday.
Erika B. Ruthman, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Department of Labor, noted that OSHA has six months to complete its investigation.
“In the interim we are unable to offer any more details or preliminary information,” Ruthman said.
Marco Poveda, 36, of Hackensack, New Jersey, died following the 2 p.m. incident at a manufacturing facility at 143 Mahanoy Ave. in Hometown.
The site formerly housed the J.E. Morgan Knitting Mill and is behind the Hometown Farmers Market.
State police are also investigating the incident.
Updates to the OSHA investigation may be found on OSHA’s Establishment Search page.
A GoFundMe was started to support Poveda’s family.
“He worked long hours, often putting his own comfort aside, driven by the belief that sacrifice today would mean a better tomorrow for his daughter,” according to the fundraiser.
