A Tamaqua couple is facing charges following a 9:30 p.m. March 24 dispute at a Cedar Street parking lot.
Tamaqua police charged Anthony Martinico, 23, and Hannah Winter, 21, Tamaqua, with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. Martinico was also charged with harassment.
Police were sent to the location after witnesses told the Schuylkill County Communications Center that a man was slamming a female into a vehicle.
As police arrived, they spotted Martinico and Winter walking away from the area. Both exhibited signs of intoxication, police said. Winter told police that she and Martinico were in an argument but that she was fine.
Police said Martinico started to walk away from police and said he was going to a bar. Police said Martinico was “stumbling” and officers took him into custody.
While inside the police vehicle, officers said he slammed his head and screamed.
Winter was also taken into custody and told police that Martinico pushed her head toward a vehicle several times. Police said neither Winter nor Martinico had any marks or bruises.
Officers said Martinico threatened to sue the police department and that he was an attorney.
Both were charged and released.
