Beltzville boat launch undergoes repairs

Work on a Beltzville State Park boat launch should be finished in about two weeks.

Cody Miller, the manager of Beltzville State Park in Towamensing Township, said crews are installing retaining walls, backfilling and finishing other work at the Pine Run boat launch.

The original launch dates back decades and was likely poured when the park was established. Its two retaining walls had severely deteriorated.

Miller said the work began in October. Heavy and lingering snowfall, along with ice, put the project on a temporary hold, he said.

Pine Run is one of two boat launches at Beltzville. Located on the north side of the lake — near the day use area — it has ample parking for vehicles and trailers.

The Preachers Camp launch remains open and is on the southern shore of the lake.
