PV Golden Agers
The Panther Valley Golden Agers met on March 23 with 14 members present.
President Diane Gould opened the meeting with the Lord’s Prayer, Pledge of Allegiance and singing of “God Bless America.” A member read the invocation, “A Prayer for Spring.”
Francis Hager will receive an Easter card from club members and president. The meeting closed and bingo was played.
The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. April 13 from the St. Ann Apartments in Lansford.
Conservation meeting
The Nesquehoning Conservation Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Nesquehoning VFW.
PV kindergarten registration
Kindergarten registration in the Panther Valley School District will be held on April 8, 9 and 10 from 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the Panther Valley Elementary School gymnasium, 1 N. Mermon Ave., Nesquehoning.
An evening appointment time will also be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on April 8 only with the last appointment time beginning at 6:30 p.m.
For a child to be registered for kindergarten, the parent/guardian must call the school office between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at 570-669-9411 to make an appointment. No walk-in registrations will be accepted.
Be prepared to provide the following information to the secretary: parents/guardian name, address, and telephone number along with the child’s name and birth date.
A child must be 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2026 to be eligible for kindergarten.
When attending registration, you should have a state-issued birth certificate or other acceptable proof of name and age of child; immunization records for the child; and two proofs of residency and any court related documents pertaining to the child if applicable.
